Nature Classes

Join us at our Field Institute for unforgettable enrichment classes that connect students of all ages to the wonders of the natural world. From drop-off to family classes, each immersive experience is designed to deepen understanding through hands-on learning.

Whether you're joining for a day, month or semester of educational hikes, crafting, or storytelling, our classes offer a unique opportunity to explore, create, and grow.

 Monday - Field School

Join our immersive field class to learn about wildlife, ecology, wilderness survival, primitive skills, social-emotional learning and more. Engage in ecology walks, enjoy free discovery time, and participate in hands-on lessons, nature art and games, all designed to deepen their connection with the natural world. Recommended for ages 5-12

10am-2pm
Glendora

Semester, Monthly, or Drop-In ($840 per semester)

Dates: January 6, 13, 27, February 3, 10, 24, March 3, 10, 24, April 7, 14, 21

Tuesdays/Thursdays - Family Field School

Families get outside to investigate and learn about the natural world through discovery hikes, crafts, stories, and more, guided by professional California Naturalists and Educators. Parents and siblings stay for this class to learn together! Recommended for Grades 1st and up. Ages 4 and under are no cost with a sibling.

New Time, Longer Class! 9:30am-12pm 

Glendora on Tuesdays, Mt. Baldy on Thursdays

Semester, Monthly, or Drop-In ($480 per semester)

Dates: January 7, 14, 28, February 4, 11, 25, March 4, 11, 25, April 8, 15, 22

Wednesday - Field School for Teens

California is one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, home to both the highest and lowest peaks in the United States, thousands of unique plants and animals, intricate waterways, and so much more. Through educational hikes, dynamic activities, and hands-on learning, students will dive deep into California’s natural wonders while exploring their own paths, perspectives, and potential. This immersive experience invites participants to engage with nature in ways that challenge, inspire, and encourage growth as they connect with themselves and the world around them. Recommended for ages 11-17​

Semester, Monthly ($840 per semester)

Dates: January 8, 15, 29, February 5, 12, 26, March 5, 12, 26, April 9, 16, 23

Various Workshops & Field Trips

throughout Winter & Spring

We offer a variety of immersive nature field trips and workshops year-round, covering a wide range of engaging topics. Activities may include plant identification walks, insect discovery hikes, bird-watching, lessons in community science, nature journaling, gratitude circles, night hikes, basket weaving, survival skills, nature-inspired art, animal tracking, and much more!
